5 Ways to be Boho-chic

Foundation 

While bohemian looks can come off as fun and care-free, it can also look a bit bummy and literally care-free if you don’t style yourself properly. The key to accomplishing a fun boho look is to layer with light pieces (unless you’re dealing with cold weather). Great pieces to own in order to accomplish this look are crochet or lace vest, linen tank tops, denim or crochet shorts, chiffon skirts with a frill, oh of course yes a belt! A belt would be nice (thick or thin).  If yore not the girl who wears skirts or dresses, there’s still hope for you. Jeans with laces on the side! Where? Well you can always buy a pair by the originator of this trend…Isabel Marant or settle for a pair from Forever 21.

Add-ons

Let’s not forget about your accessories, there’s always room for a fringe cross body, hobo bag, or clutch. Boots or fringe sandals will serve as strong pieces to seal your look. Sunglasses are also a plus, round frames or aviators, whatever style suits your gorgeous face.

The Oscars 2015 Red Carpet Review

The Oscars 2015 red carpet was beyond pretty women standing around waiting to curtsey, include it was a balloon of glamour. Not only did the best of the best designers make their make as their pieces draped over the world’s best actresses and women of power, there was a constant glow in spite of the drizzles of rain. These are my favorites. What looks were your favorite?

I vote Tibi 2015

I actually didn’t know much about Tibi as a collection until I spotted it on my instagram and wow, this collection is amazing! I love the mix of knitwear and classic skirts. Quick and easy looks that can be created within minutes. Hints of fur were present on flats shoes and fur never hurt anyone…faux fur that is. Knit on knit will also be a thing to wear next fall. The best thing to do now is purchase these items now during spring and summer sales and your closet will be packed and  ready for fall.

Militant Beauty

Attention all women! If you don’t own anything in your closet that is military inspired, you must fall in line! Although every photo posted here is from the Marc Jacobs Spring Ready-to-wear collection, you can also find this trend at Forever 21, Zara, H&M and more. Gold buttons, short blazers with exaggerated collars, long  form fitting trench coats with embellishments are all pieces that will help you accomplish the look of a glamorous military fashion fairy. Does every piece have to be army green? No, not at all. In fact creating this look can be created with one special piece. Cinch your waist with a bold double breasted blazer and baggy jeans or trousers. We all have our own battles in life, we may as well kill the negative vibes in style.

A Blooming Chanel

Let’s just start off by saying that the Chanel set alone was a blooming mechanical banquet. According to style.com’s Tim Blanks, it took six months to create the 300 flowers on the set. Of course they started off as a dull bud and bloomed after being watered by a male model with a Chanel watering can. Yes, you heard it…they have watering cans. Just imagine a mechanical chic Chanel garden…yep that’s it!

If you aren’t in the spring spirit, get with it. The Chanel Spring 2015 Couture Collection has of course made us forget about the last collection. It’s amazing how Karl Lagerfeld has an overlapping form of creativity. He has the ability to blow us away in fashion every time. No collection can be possibly be his best because he always top the last with something greater.

One thing that I value more than ever are DETAILS. Details in your outfit can change your entire look whether its a bit of glitz or a piece of glam. Fancy buttons or heavy beading.

Cool Calm and Selective

One thing that I love most about the Stella McCartney Spring 2015 Ready-to Wear Collection is the minimalist strutting at her peak. The highest moments ( to me) of a great outfit is its ability to mesh naturally. No extra twist in your walk or a pull and tug at your skirt…but simply going with the flow. Although I can be the queen of accessories, there are times when less outweighs more and sometimes adding layering jewels could kill weigh down chic feather of an outfit. My point is to learn to balance your look and go with what you feel.  If your look is great with jewels so be it. Grab a detailed bag and go on your way. Sandals can also substitute as jewelry. This collection is for effortless days while remaining high fashion and chic. No one said pile on your entire closet and you’ll be the fancy one of them all.

Bohemian Gypsy

Hop off of the typical train ride through your closet and have an adventure with the magic-carpet looks from Nicole Miller’s Pre-Fall 2015 Collection. The bohemian girl meets her inner gypsy and go for a ride. Every look is as cool, calm, and collected as we all wish to be on a daily basis. I love this collection because is it the perfect mix. Not too, girly but it has everything that would make you feel laid back and beautiful at the same time. Who ever said that you have to look or feel uncomfortable to reap the benefits of looking beautiful? Honey, take a deep breath and exhale the expectations of the world’s idea of beauty and create your own. What are the ingredients to becoming the beauty boho-gypsy? A fringe kimono, a pair of flare printed pants, a maxi dress [show your shoulders if you dare], thin necklaces [ chunky jewels won’t do the trick this time], a beaded cross body bag, and strappy sandals or heels. 12 Ways To Be a Chloe Girl

The Chloe Pre-Fall 2015 Collection is a great example of what a girl should look like on her best day in her best spirits. It may seem like these looks aren’t tangible because of the pricey tags that hang on them but that is so not true.

The key to a fashionable woman is her sense of imagination and her reality. The two can actually mesh well together. First, learn the color palette of the looks that you’re trying to create. Understand that designers are the best at giving us inspiration. No one said go purchase a sewing machine and fabrics and try to recreate the entire Chloe collection. Instead you can purchase pieces with similarities to the original collection and make it a style of your own.

Now that we know what look we’re going for, we need to make a grocery list. No, this isn’t your typical trip to Publix or Walmart but a list of items that you need to purchase in order to accomplish these looks.

Clean and Chic

Clean,chic,pretty business is a great representation of the Marissa Webb Pre Fall 2015 collection. Not only should styling yourself become a lot easier, your pockets should also become a lot heavier.  Well that’s if you’re a cash carrying gal but you get what I’m trying to say. Looking forward when it comes to fashion will always save you money. There’s no need to invest in 5-second trends when you’re looking to have a style with a lasting impression. Cropped blazers have become my new “thing’. They’re easier to use as a layering piece without making yourself feel or look puffy or tight. A sheer blouse is a finishing touch, you can even choose to wear one with a pussybow, whatever fits your style is great. The vest in the picture above is darling and perfect to wear during the transitional time. You know like a warm day with a bit of a breeze? Trousers are a staple that can be styled in several ways. You can find an affordable pair at Walmart, Forever 21, Express, Zara, H&M, and a few other stores. Since black trousers are easy to come by, its great to make them apart of your daily wardrobe, you can style them up or down. Marissa Webb styled them up in this instance. You can also find stylish coats like those in her collection by racking up during the winter sale this season and holding onto them until next fall.
