Quick Fix!

So I fell in love with this Zara TRF dress but I’m not really a dress girl and it was a bit too danity for me. So I made it my style by adding a little bit of leather. You can transform a look fast with a simple biker jacket and boots. Kissing Miss goody two shoes goodbye!

5 Ways to be Boho-chic

Foundation

While bohemian looks can come off as fun and care-free, it can also look a bit bummy and literally care-free if you don’t style yourself properly. The key to accomplishing a fun boho look is to layer with light pieces (unless you’re dealing with cold weather). Great pieces to own in order to accomplish this look are crochet or lace vest, linen tank tops, denim or crochet shorts, chiffon skirts with a frill, oh of course yes a belt! A belt would be nice (thick or thin).  If yore not the girl who wears skirts or dresses, there’s still hope for you. Jeans with laces on the side! Where? Well you can always buy a pair by the originator of this trend…Isabel Marant or settle for a pair from Forever 21.

Add-ons

Let’s not forget about your accessories, there’s always room for a fringe cross body, hobo bag, or clutch. Boots or fringe sandals will serve as strong pieces to seal your look. Sunglasses are also a plus, round frames or aviators, whatever style suits your gorgeous face.

Something old, something new, something fringe

Today was all about the main accessory….my bandana scarf that is. I purchased it at one of the many Zara’s in New York City during fashion week. This piece stood out most because of the fringe. Having something fringe for spring is almost as important for a bride to have something blue I mean there’s no excuse. You can have a fringe, bag, shoes, earrings, or necklace in this case. Just make sure you have fringe in your life for goodness sake. It’s the answer to a boring look that doesn’t need much but just a little something to tie your look together.

The Art of Style

As my fashion consultanting business grows, I’ve noticed one thing. My clients (in the beginning) are excited about their new look and the great feeling about self that it brings but when they actually try on the clothing there’s always a wall that they must conquer  before the breakthrough to their improved self. A sense of doubt is what I’ll call it. Sometimes we think our clothing is the problem but style goes far beyond what we can see.

The body is only considered the coat rack in this case when referring to style. We can only pull off looks that we believe in. What do I mean? Well we have to first feel good, knowing that clothes are what we make them and never the opposite. It doesn’t take a celebrity to pull off great fashion but a person the mentality of a winner. Think of the feeling that 1st place brings, it’s great right? Well we must grasp that same feeling as we walk through everyday life… In style that is.

As a fashion stylist, dressing up makes me feel like I’m at my best because it expresses exactly who I am without saying a word…I tend to dress how I feel. I don’t mean when I’m up or down but the person that I want to be in that moment. No says become bipolar! When I feel like my executive self I wear clothing inspired by menswear such as brogue shoes. Women are executives too, sometimes I wear nude pumps or a pencil skirt as well.I’m not saying that’s what all executives wear but that’s my look of an executive. Other days I feel care free and happy and those emotions call for lace up sandals, and fringe. Your style is exactly what you make it, not the money that you may or may not have.

High-low has become a very popular way of styling but I say forget popularity, it’s simply smart. I love pairing Chanel with Forever 21, H&M, and sometimes Zara!  If you can something close to your dream designer collection, why not buy it if buying the original isn’t in your budget. Style your outfit just like the image in the look ok but the only difference would be the money that you saved in your pocket or purse…whatever you get the point.

The point of all of the jabber is own the style that you want and wear it without the presence of doubt. Your days will be go by exactly the way you want them to when you tweak your style mentality.

Nothing inspires me more than Fashion Week! I mean I love everything about it from the new threads going down the runway, flooded timelines, constant updates, and more. Instagram gives you an open eye of fashion immediately with instant post from your favorite bloggers, celebs, buyers, and designers of course.

As a fashion stylist, these updates gives me a step ahead for looks for me new and old clients. Sometimes you don’t have to buy a total outfit, instead you can mix it up by switching tops or bottoms and even a pair of shoes. Looking out for style inspiration can save you tons of bucks and spruce up your closet all at once. Now enough chatter for now, I’m missing shows. Stride in style!

It’s the beginning of a new month and I wanted to start it off in style. I’m wearing Zara everything today…that happened by chance believe it or not. I also purchase each item during the Zara sale! Styling a knit skirt can be a challenge of you over think it but throwing on what feels right is the answer to those small wardrobe issues that can take up a lot of your time. I paired it with an oversized denim shirt because it’s a fitted skirt and I’m all for wearing something baggy on top of the bottom is fitted or vice versa. These boots are so comfy, I think I’m going to buy more shows with the track heel. They are so much easier to walk in. Stride in style my friends.

The Stylespiration Issue Vol. 1

It’s almost most Spring and Pre Fall is on the way (well kind of). I’m so excited about fashion week that I’ve been glued to Style.com every chance I get! Call me crazy but there’s something about the freshness of new fashion going down the runway. I love how we can be a flower child one season and a rocking rebel the next. Fashion is a rosebud that will continue to bloom. And now, here’s my latest obsession… sandals and socks. Yes, of course the unfashionable according to the not so fashion-friendly individual would thinks one who wears socks is a slob but I’m here to tell you different. There’s quite a few designers styling there collection this way but No. 21 is doing it best at the moment. Just look and see.No21_007_1366No21_009_1366

What brings this sock trend together perfectly is the designers choice of layering pieces. If you must wear socks with sandals that obviously means there’s a bit of chill outside. Allow your combination style piece to make sense by wearing a sweater and show a little leg with a midi skirt if Jack Frost hasn’t come to visit. The color selection also matters while pulling off such a trend. Caramel hues keeps this particular look (shown above) fresh, light and less of a drag.

If wearing a skirt during the winter makes absolutely no sense to you, wide leg cropped jeans (gaucho pants) may make you feel better. By the way, out with skinny jeans and insert, flared, bold, wide leg everything. Don’t say farewell to your skinnies permanently, simply tuck them away until they make their  debut another season. No trend goes away forever.

One thing that I love most about the Stella McCartney Spring 2015 Ready-to Wear Collection is the minimalist strutting at her peak. The highest moments ( to me) of a great outfit is its ability to mesh naturally. No extra twist in your walk or a pull and tug at your skirt…but simply going with the flow. Although I can be the queen of accessories, there are times when less outweighs more and sometimes adding layering jewels could kill weigh down chic feather of an outfit. My point is to learn to balance your look and go with what you feel.  If your look is great with jewels so be it. Grab a detailed bag and go on your way. Sandals can also substitute as jewelry. This collection is for effortless days while remaining high fashion and chic. No one said pile on your entire closet and you’ll be the fancy one of them all.

Shine All Day

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/484/23488628/files/2015/01/img_0691.jpg

One thing that I’ve noticed overtime is people being afraid to sparkle. Why on earth would I wait for the sun to go down in order to shine? There’s 24 hours in a day and I say use as many as possible. Im not saying wear your outfit for a night outing with your friends the entire day but shine a little. I’ve had these Zara bejeweled sling backs for about two years and I wear the most during the day. How? Easy. Grab your favorite pair of jeans or leather pants and brighten up the day. The sun isn’t the only thing with an illuminating touch. You can also wear a sequin clutch with a full denim look or all black. The key is to keep the rest of your outfit simple and not overwhelming. Please don’t overwhelm a great look with all your glam at once…save a little for next time. Start your day in jewels, diamonds, or a touch of sequin and you’ll shine all day.

Get up and get out!

Get up, get up! It’s time to get going. 2015 has graced us with her beauty and your time is now. If had any hesitations last year, just leave them there. The best thing about a stylist woman is confidence and drive. Rush to your dreams and do it in style. Read up on your favorite looks and make them your own. I’m in the midst of the ‘Tasha of Spring’ as we speak. No one ever said you had to look the same. The weapon is to be continuously chic and bloom in your own image. Water the garden and watch it grow! Happy 2015 to my followers! I appreciate you all like no other. Stride in style my friends.
